Organization Development

What is Organization Development?

Organization development refers to the system-wide application and transfer of behavioral science knowledge to the planned development, improvement, and reinforcement of the strategies, structures and processes that lead to organizational effectiveness (Cummings & Worley, 2005).

It is a long-term effort, led and supported by top management, to improve an organization’s visioning, empowerment, learning, and problem solving processes (French & Bell, 1999). Essentially, organization development is the process through which your organization improves.

Organization Development Consultants, on the other hand, are experts in the theory and practice of organization development. They serve as partners to key business leaders with the intention of helping client organizations implement radical ideas that improve their organizations and the experience of their people.

Our Commitment

Organization development is fundamentally a values-based approach. Some of the core values of OD include:

  • Employee engagement and a meaningful work experience

  • Freedom, responsibility, and self-control

  • Authenticity, congruence, honesty and openness

  • Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (JEDI)

  • Widespread, meaningful participation in system affairs

The approaches adopted by AgileOD fall in line with these underlying values and beliefs.
